Forgotten
Wisdom creates original productions based on American history.
We also preserve traditional American musical styles and techniques. We perform
for libraries, performing arts centers, historical societies, schools and other
community organizations. Since January 1998 there have been more than 150
performances and residencies in Wisconsin, Minnesota & Michigan.
School programs are designed to engage students in the process of creating and preparing for performance and encourage them to understand, value and preserve America's musical legacy. We bring the power of the arts to engage children in many curriculum areas. During high energy creative experiences, children become the songwriters and performers. Founder and Artistic Director Bruce Burnside is a professional musician / composer, avid student of the Civil War era, 19th century American music & instruments as well as being a certified teacher of English. He performs with the Lost Nation String band and Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua. Forgotten Wisdom has 501(c)(3) status. |
